Many moms just too busy get stuck with the full time job and leave too little time for the kids. I was a FTWM and I had limited time for my Baby Moon. Also I missed some of her first time and first words. I was thinking that if I were to wait until I "have earned enough" to quit my job and hope to spend more time with her, she might not need my accompany during that time. She will grow up and has her own life. So, I plan to have home based business so that I could have more time with my girl at home when she is small. When she grows up and has her own life, I also won't end up feeling lonely but have my own business to focus on. Of course, like your sharing, a business can have lasting success only with the few factors.
