Article marketing is another written type of word of mouth to the world about what you are doing and what is your business about. It is totally free for you to submit your sites to some authority content sharing sites such as Ezine Articles, Hubpages or Squidoo.

Article marketing is applicable for home based business selling physical products or internet business. For home business that selling physical products, you may choose to submit articles to local directories if your targeted market is locally based.  If you are in internet business, you do not have the restriction but can submit to directories that target worldwide.

Content is important
Your articles content is important. You should write about articles that related to your business. Provide information about products or services and attract attention of readers to draw their interests to visit your site. For example, if your website is about parenting and you sell health-related products, you should then write content about information that parents would like to know related to their health or the kids’ health. Write about toys information would not help in promoting your business. Articles get traffic to your site and traffic equals sales.

Resource box is important
Articles sites normally have a space at the bottom of the articles for you to fill up your author’s biography. You should take the chance to put your name, your website address, a tag line or your business’ unique selling proposition and a call to action for your readers. You are not looking for partner, therefore information such as how you look like, what personality you have shouldn’t be shown in the resource box. However, you may write something about your expertise to lure your readers to click your link.

The readers don’t know you at all and they only know you from your content. Again, your content is important and by showing your expertise in the resource box, they will learn to appreciate you and may later become interested as to what you are offering them.

Recycle your articles
You should not submit the same article to many articles directories as many of the authority sites require original content. However, you may rewrite, restructure them, change the headline and submit to different sites. As long as you are the original author, you will not encounter any copyright problems. By recycle your articles, you may save your time to think of new article content. Also, with the same topic, you actually submit to different sites that target different group of readers.
